Beginner-friendly
The Dwarf Aquarium Lily grows from a small bulb and produces striking green or reddish arrow-shaped leaves that spread across the water column. Under moderate to high light it can push floating lily pads to the surface — trimming surface leaves redirects energy back to submerged growth and keeps the plant compact.
It is a hardy, fast-growing plant well-suited to shrimp tanks and nano setups. The broad leaves provide natural cover and resting spots for shrimp and small fish. Plant the bulb shallowly — half buried or resting on the substrate — and let the roots anchor themselves.

Expert Advice
Razz Aquatics Recommendation
A healthy bulb makes an excellent centerpiece plant in a 10+ gallon shrimp tank. Pair with a sandy substrate and low-profile foreground plants to let the lily's broad leaves stand out without crowding.

Common Questions
Dwarf Aquarium Lily FAQ
How do I plant the bulb?+
Place the bulb half-buried or resting on top of the substrate — roots will anchor it naturally. Do not bury the bulb completely or it may rot.
My bulb isn't sprouting — is it dead?+
New bulbs can take 1–3 weeks to sprout. Keep it in moderate light and stable water. If the bulb stays firm and shows no signs of rot, it is still viable.
What if my plant arrives dead or non-viable?+
Live plants are covered under our guarantee if they arrive dead or clearly non-viable. Photograph the plants in the original sealed bag, unopened, before opening or acclimating, on the day of delivery or the following morning. Submit your claim using the Start a Claim button.
How is it shipped?+
Shipped carefully packed Monday through Thursday. Plants ship free at $75+. Transit times vary by location.
Will it grow floating leaves?+
Under good light it may send lily pads to the surface. Trim surface leaves regularly to redirect growth energy to submerged leaves and keep the plant from shading the rest of your tank.
Is it safe in a shrimp tank?+
Yes. The Dwarf Aquarium Lily is a plant and does not harm shrimp. The broad leaves provide beneficial cover and resting spots.
What about melt after arrival?+
Some leaf melt during the transition to your water parameters is normal and does not qualify for a claim on its own. Remove decaying leaves promptly and allow new growth to emerge — most plants rebound within 2–3 weeks.
