Otocinclus catfish are small, peaceful algae grazers that spend much of their time feeding on biofilm and soft algae. They work especially well in mature planted aquariums with lots of leaf and hardscape surface area.
They are sensitive to unstable water and need supplemental feeding even when visible algae is present.
Care Notes
Use a mature aquarium with established biofilm and stable water. Otocinclus are poor candidates for newly cycled tanks.
Keep at least 4–6 and supplement natural algae with appropriate vegetable-based foods.
