Strawberry Rasboras (Boraras naevus) are one of the smallest schooling fish available, reaching under 1 inch. Their bodies are nearly translucent with a rich red-orange flush and a distinctive dark lateral spot. In a heavily planted tank with dark substrate, a school of 10–15 creates a cloud of living colour drifting through the plants.
Native to Thailand and Malaysia, they prefer soft, slightly acidic water and slower flow. Completely peaceful — safe with all shrimp species, snails, and other nano fish. Every fish we ship is quarantined before departure.
Care Notes
Strawberry Rasboras are tiny and need appropriately small food — micro pellets, micro worms, and baby brine shrimp. Standard flake or pellets are too large. Feed twice daily in small amounts. They prefer slightly soft, acidic water, planted tanks with subdued lighting, and calm flow. Dark substrate makes their red colouration stand out.
Keep in groups of at least 8–10. Small groups are shy and hide. In a proper school they are confident and display continuous movement. Completely peaceful and safe with shrimp. Avoid strong flow — they are tiny and prefer calm water.
