White Cloud Mountain Minnows are one of the classic beginner fish: nearly indestructible, attractive, and adaptable to conditions that would stress most fish. Their green iridescent lateral stripe and vivid red fin accents make them unexpectedly beautiful for their price point.
Native to mountain streams in China, they are ideal for unheated tanks, outdoor setups in temperate climates, and new aquarists. Every fish we ship is quarantined before departure.
Care Notes
White Cloud Mountain Minnows are cold-water fish that prefer 60–72°F. They thrive in unheated aquariums in most homes and are not compatible with tropical fish requiring 78°F or above. They are exceptionally hardy and tolerant of a wide parameter range. Feed quality small pellets, flake, or micro worms twice daily.
Keep in groups of at least 6. Active schooling fish that prefer open swimming space and moderate flow. Their colouration — green iridescent lateral stripe, red fin accents — is most vivid in cool, clean, well-oxygenated water. Safe with all similarly sized tank mates and shrimp.
