Chocolate Rabbit Snails feature a rich, dark brown body that ranges from milk to dark chocolate tones — an understated variant that pairs beautifully with darker substrates and driftwood-heavy aquascapes. Like all Tylomelania, they originate from Sulawesi, Indonesia and reach around 3 inches in shell length at maturity.
They share the standard Rabbit Snail care profile: warm water (75–86°F), alkaline parameters, slow livebearing reproduction, and a preference for fine substrate. Excellent for natural, biotope-style planted tanks.

Rabbit Snails prefer warmer water than most freshwater snails — maintain temperature at 75–86°F. They thrive in moderately hard, alkaline water; soft acidic water stresses them and damages shells over time.
Use fine sand or smooth substrate to protect their foot. Supplement with blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach, kale) 2–3 times per week. Add calcium via cuttlebone or mineral blocks.
