Stunning in planted tanks
Peaceful community fish
Panda Corydoras are one of the most recognisable Corydoras — named for their black-and-white patterning. Small at around 2 inches, they are active bottom dwellers that school together, forage in groups, and frequently rest in a pile. Their group behaviour is genuinely endearing.
Native to the upper Amazon basin in Peru, they prefer cooler, clean water and are one of the hardier Corydoras species. Perfect for planted community tanks, safe with all shrimp and invertebrates. Every fish we ship is quarantined before departure.
Care Notes
Panda Corydoras require fine sand or very smooth substrate — coarse gravel will injure their sensitive barbels over time. Feed sinking pellets or frozen foods that reach the bottom after other fish have eaten. They are more sensitive to nitrate buildup than most Corydoras; keep water clean.
Keep in groups of at least 6. True schooling fish — stressed in small numbers. Completely peaceful with all tank mates and safe with shrimp and snails. Never use copper-based medications.
Black patches over white — the Panda Corydoras colouration is immediately distinctive. A school of 8 moving across a planted sand bottom is a classic planted tank image.

Expert Advice
Razz Aquatics Recommendation
Keep 6 or more in a 20-gallon with fine sand substrate and low to moderate flow. A school of Panda Corydoras on a sand bottom with plants is a classic planted tank combination. Never add to a tank with coarse gravel. Fish ship Overnight / Next Day Air — choose your delivery date at checkout.

How many should I keep?+
6 minimum. Corydoras in small groups are stressed and inactive.
How do I acclimate Panda Corydoras?+
Float the bag 15 minutes for temperature. Drip-acclimate at 2–3 drops per second for 30–60 minutes. Net the fish into the tank — never add bag water. Dim lights for the first few hours.

Live plants give nano fish cover, reduce stress, and create a more natural aquarium. They help break up sightlines, provide shelter for shy fish, and support a healthier planted tank.
